Minepit 2021 Update.

“The Pool of Jewels”

This was my first lake, at just over an acre and with depths ranging from 2ft- 12ft, 2 islands, lillies, reed beds and overhanging trees, this is the ultimate in close quarter carping. the carp are some of the trickiest around with some fish not seeing the bank in over 5 years !

This lake has seen some major work in 2019, The stock is currently 28 Carp, However this year I will reduce down to around 25 carp. The goal is a lake with Large hidden gems swimming in its depths. A quiet and intimate water.

Steve’s Lake (Was Fallow) Update 2023”The Lake of Kings and Queens”.

The latest and largest lake to our complex at just over 5 acres, again dug and designed for the serious carper, stocked with around 60 fish and all hand picked, depths range again from 2- 20ft, In 2018 this lake has only had Alan Blair fish this for a few hours to sample the fish. This will definitely be a big fish water in the future, Already holding fish to over 30lb and they have been left for over a year and fed daily !. Opened for our members in 2019. Current Lake record is 47lb The big Common caught Feb 23

During the Covid Lockdown we have undertaken a huge amount of work across the complex and planted in the region of 500plus trees, shrubs and plants around this lake in particular.

We pride ourselves on fish welfare and because of this all of the following are supplied at the lakes to be used, Nash Cradle, Nash Kaptive slings and Nash Nets.   No other equipment is brought on site by our members.  This ensure we don’t have the worry of KHV or other nasty diseases being transmitted into our lakes.  Aerators are installed and on timers ensuring that the fish remain stress free even on the hottest of days.

The lakes are full of features, with sunken islands, bars, lilly beds and reed beds, with depths ranging from 3ft – 21ft covering with around 10 acres of water across the 3 lakes.   The waters are full of natural food ensuring a healthy diet for the fish, without having to rely on the anglers baits.
